Fallout fan film releases endearing terrible trailer

Fallout: Lanius is a thing that I didn’t know existed until this morning, but now couldn’t live without. It seems a group of post-apocalyptic mutants from the fabled land of Australia have managed to scrape up enough funding from IndieGoGo to forge ahead with their plan to tell some of the backstory to Fallout: New Vegas in a live action movie.
According to the funding proposal, Lanius will follow the quest for revenge of a tribesman whose people are threatened by the march of the countless legions of slavers. The film will establish an origin story for Lanius, who emerges as one of the primary antagonists for the Courier in New Vegas.
“We couldn’t be more appreciative of the people that have supported us,” said Wade K. Savage, who will be helming the project. “Now, I want to see if we can make our stretch goals and really make something amazing for the fans.”
To celebrate, they’ve released the first teaser trailer, featuring some truly Shatner-worthy moments:
Well, that was… interesting. At least the dry desert of Australia mirrors the Mojave wastes nicely, while the costume design seems to have attracted most of the budget so far.
